Newby Hall and its beautiful grounds with quiet local roads will be the setting for the FFC Duathlon and Triathlon events. It is very exciting to have been granted permission to use such a stunning venue. Once you have experienced this event for the first time it is likley to become a permanent fixture in your athletic calendar.

The geography of the local area means the swim; bike and run courses are accurate and fast. If you have been chasing a PB this is definitely the event location for you. The bike and run routes have been chosen very carefully with the main focus being safety, closely followed by speed. At every opportunity the routes chosen minimise any deceleration, technical areas, sharp corners and dead turns. The run routes are on good, fast road surfaces.

The swim is in the very safe, calm and clean River Ure; swimmers will complete the whole distance in the same direction as the flow of the river. Although the flow of the River is negligible this will give a slight advantage. In addition to this, it is much easier to navigate and all swim routes will be measured accurately to the meter.

The bike routes are flat with just a couple of occasions where you will be required to loose speed. The majority of the roads used have good road surfaces with long straights, meaning most of your ride will be in a fast, powerful and aerodynamic position. The bike routes are also safe, and will be well marshaled for all events.

The run routes are all within the beautiful grounds of Newby Hall with little traffic and few pedestrians. The routes are looped with excellent running surfaces and no dead turns to ensure the best time possible. Be safe in the knowledge the routes will be measured at the exit point of the transition area and will finish exactly at the advertised distance. 

Probably one of the most beautiful locations you will race this year.
